The dinghy team sailed the in the Boston Dingy Cup this weekend, the longest held regatta in college sailing in Boston "Beantown" MA and sailed on the Charles River. The event is usually the most diverse in boats used but this year it was a three division regatta all sailed in FJ's. Conditions for Saturday were sunny in the low 40's with 5-15 knots from the WNW and the same on Sunday but with less breeze at 5-10 knots. As usual the breeze was very shifty but yet tame by Charles River windshifts standards.
Sailing for the Mariners were seniors Chris Alexander and Allison Davis who finished 14th in A division. Senior James Givens and sophomore Alyssa Montague were 9th in B division while sophomores Brett Baker and Sara Mock were 8th in C division.
Upcoming for the team is a trip to Hobart & William and Smith on March 29th and 30th for the North #1 in order to qualify for the America trophy. The dinghy team will also be competing that weekend in the Central #1 at Ocean County College.
